Curiously huge the world looks from here. A tree a mountain, a grass blade a tree. I breathe in the water hidden in the air. Filter its contents, grow a little hair. Make myself a blanket of softness, with care. I rest in the shadows, hugging rocks and trees. Who would know how much you can see. My love is bright, ancient, full of life. I’ve seen the world through eons Fall from its heights. …what questions I have? For you I’ll ask some. Do you taste the elements of the air? As you touch Mother Earth, feel the song we all share? I hear the trees dance. I smell distant fires. I sense the rock shake. I know your gait, so then I feel safe. Do you see the patterns? The patterns of time? I see in colors from each cell of mine. Built to know light Green in my eyes. Well, green to yours, but a hundred shades to mine. You speak my name ~moss~ but know not all my gifts. I’ll tell you. Will you cherish it? ~ a poem by me, about my favorite thing in the woods. ~
